YOUR PRIVACY
fifty Privacy Policy Draft
Last updated: 6 November 2026
fifty is a pushup tracking app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. This policy explains how fifty handles your information when you log sets, track progress, use automatic counting, and sync between devices.
fifty is provided by Petter Sandholt. For privacy questions or requests, contact fifty@dofifty.app.
Information used by fifty
fifty does not require a separate account or ask for your name, email address, or other profile information to track pushups.
The app stores the following information to provide its features:
- Pushup history: the number of repetitions in each saved set, its date and time, and a randomly generated identifier. The app uses this history to calculate totals, streaks, and personal records.
- Your daily goal: your chosen number of pushups and when you changed it, so the goal can stay consistent across devices.
- Preferences: appearance choices and reminder settings, stored on the device where you configure them.
- Sync information: identifiers for deleted sets, used to prevent deleted entries from returning when devices reconnect, and an Apple-provided iCloud account identifier stored locally to prevent mixing history from different accounts. This identifier does not give fifty your Apple Account password or email address.
fifty does not include advertising, advertising identifiers, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. We do not sell or rent your personal information or use your exercise information for advertising.
Storage and syncing
Your history is stored locally on your devices. The app also keeps local recovery copies and makes saved history available to its own widgets and Watch complications.
When iCloud is available to fifty, the app automatically syncs your saved sets, daily goal, and deletion identifiers to a private database in your iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit service. Your paired Apple Watch exchanges history and your daily goal with your iPhone using Apple’s WatchConnectivity service; the iPhone handles iCloud syncing. Logging can continue locally when iCloud is unavailable.
fifty does not send your history to a server operated by the developer or make it publicly available. Apple provides the infrastructure for iCloud and device syncing. Apple’s handling of information through its services is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy. Local app data may also be included in device backups, depending on your settings.
Apple Watch motion and HealthKit
If you start automatic counting on Apple Watch, fifty uses wrist motion, including orientation, acceleration, and rotation, to estimate repetitions. These sensor readings are processed on the Watch during the session. The current version does not save raw motion recordings or upload them through fifty’s syncing features. If you save a set, its repetition count and date and time become part of your history.
fifty requests HealthKit workout permission to keep automatic counting active while your wrist is lowered. It does not request access to read your saved Apple Health records, and the current version does not save completed workouts to Apple Health. Manual logging remains available without workout permission.
You can manage available motion and Health permissions in your device’s privacy and Health settings. Revoking a permission stops the features that depend on it; it does not delete sets you previously saved.
Reminders and Apple system features
With your permission, fifty schedules local notifications to remind you about your goal. You can change reminders in fifty and disable notifications in system settings. Reminders, widgets, and Watch complications may display your progress on your device’s screen, including its Lock Screen, according to your settings.
On supported systems, you can use Siri and Shortcuts to log sets, request progress and history, or delete a set. When you use these features, fifty supplies the relevant counts, dates, goals, and history to the Apple system feature handling your request. Apple’s processing of Siri requests and system diagnostics is governed by its own privacy notices and your device settings.
Retention and deletion
fifty keeps saved history until you remove it; there is no automatic expiry period.
You can remove a set using the Undo control beside an entry shown in the app. Deletion is shared with connected devices and iCloud when syncing succeeds. The app retains the deleted set’s identifier, without its repetition count or date in the active history, to prevent an older copy from restoring that set. These deletion identifiers have no automatic expiry.
Deleting fifty from one device does not delete copies on your other devices, in iCloud, or in backups. Offloading the app also preserves local app data. Older migration copies and device backups may retain information removed from the active history.
To remove all stored copies, remove the app and its data from each device, remove fifty’s iCloud data using Apple’s storage controls where available, and manage any backups containing the app’s data. A device that still has local history may upload it again when syncing resumes. Contact us if you need help with complete deletion or access to your information.
Contact and your rights
If you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send. We use these to respond to your request and retain correspondence only as long as needed to resolve it and meet applicable legal obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
Where applicable data protection law gives you these rights, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or a portable copy of your personal information, and object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Contact fifty@dofifty.app to make a request. Because your history is stored on your devices and in your private iCloud database, handling a request may require actions on your devices. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including Datatilsynet in Norway.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when fifty’s features or privacy practices change. The updated policy will show a revised date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before making a change.
